A Selection of Daffodils and Tulips

Why have a Bulb Remembrance?

Many visitors to the Crematorium have expressed a desire to make a small contribution towards enhancing the floral beauty of the Gardens and Woodlands, as a token remembrance of their loved ones.

Since the Gardens and Woodlands are designed as a memorial to all, and in order to preserve their beauty, it is not practicable to allow private planting of any kind and it is for this reason that the Bulb Remembrance Scheme was founded many years ago.

It is generally understood that the planting of bulbs will be carried out by crematorium staff and will not be in any special position, neither does it endow any claim to any particular portion of the grounds, but will be part of a mass planting throughout the grounds of an assortment of spring bulbs.

Planting will be carried out in the Autumn but instructions can be accepted at any time of year and donations for bulbs, including the cost of planting, are in units of £1.00 pro rata for larger quantities.
